A Share a Coke Gift for a Friend

I’m so blessed with great friends and it’s fun to take an average day and celebrate that friendship!  I have a simple Share a Coke gift that takes just a few minutes to make and will brighten someone’s day!

a coke gift for a friend

While shopping at Walmart, I found a case full of regular and personalized Coke bottles in Diet Coke, Coke, and Coke Zero.  I’ve been dying to buy some because piles of my friends have been posting them on instagram.  Aren’t they fun?  Cutest no-reason gift ever.

I bought a couple of different bottles, including this Diet Coke with a Friends label.

I’m such a sucker for personalized items and would have bought a whole cart full if I could have thought of ideas for them.  I’ll be going back to stock up but first I’m celebrating a special friend with this Coke.

Do you have a friend that just makes life better?  I have a friend that’s there for me through thick and thin.  We see each other frequently {at least weekly}, our kids are great friends, and she’s someone that I share both the joys and trials of life with.  I often tell her how much I value her but it’s always fun to surprise her with a little gift as well.

personalized Coke bottle

To turn this Coke into a fun little gift, I used my cutting machine to make a drink carrier.  If you don’t have a cutting machine, you can easily find a template online and cut it out by hand.  I cut it from chipboard  but it would work with a heavy cardstock as well.

I tied the carrier with two different colors of tulle and some twine …

… and cut a small tag out of chalkboard paper {but any paper would work}.  I used a circle paper punch in the top so it would slip over the bottle and wrote a little message.

Once the tag is slipped over the Coke bottle, the message is complete.  Adorable, right?  Just be sure the tag isn’t too long or it’ll hang right over the wording on the label.

Pop the tagged bottle into the carrier and pay it forward to a friend.  Who doesn’t love getting a little surprise like that?  It’s a guaranteed day-maker.

gift for a friend

I’m not the only one sharing a Coke with a friend.  On July 6th there will be a nationwide Share a Coke Event at Walmart stores!  Bring your family and friends and share a moment and a Coke!  I’m planning to take my kids for a fun special summer moment.  Who will you share a Coke with?

Why haven’t I seen these Cokes yet?! I’m a coke drinker (well, not that often but it is the only soda I will drink) and I would totally buy these for everyone I know if it had their name on it!

Very cute – I love this idea! Coke is my favorite – but then again, I’m in Atlanta, so it would be bad to drink anything else 😀
