Do you celebrate St. Patrick’s Day?  We don’t do much but I don’t like any holiday to pass without a little celebration or crafting.  And with a redhead in the family, St. Patrick’s Day is a must {wink}.  This weekend I whipped up some shamrock soap and included a punny printable so it can be gifted to a friend … because who doesn’t love a little holiday surprise?  If you haven’t made soap before, this version requires nothing more than melting a block in the microwave so gather the kiddos and have some fun crafting!  {These instructions include affiliate links.}

To make shamrock soap, you’ll need to head to the craft store or look online to find small soap molds, clear soap base, and small shamrocks.

I found a garland of glittery shamrocks and just cut it apart but you could also use large shamrock confetti or vase filler.  Most craft stores carry a pretty good selection of holiday items and you should be able to find something that will work well.  Just be sure that whatever you choose will fit within the soap mold.

Melt the soap base according to package instructions then pour it into the soap molds, filling them no more than halfway.

Let the soap set a bit than add the shamrock and cover over it with more melted soap base, filling the mold completely and covering the shamrock.  Depending on the material used to make the shamrock, you may have to weigh it down so it doesn’t float out of the soap.  Laying a knife across the mold works well.

Let the soap set completely then carefully pop it out of the mold by pushing on the back center of the mold.

The result is a really cute and festive shamrock soap that took just minutes to make.  It would be a fun addition to the bathroom soap dish for St. Patrick’s Day!

If you want to gift the soap to a friend or classmate, grab this punny printable to use as a tag.

Click on the link below and print it out on your home computer then cut the paper down into individual tags.
