Preparing for School

This year I’ll have four kids in two different schools.  When I started thinking about all the lunch forms, permission slips, and papers that will be coming home, I decided we need a fool-proof system for sending and receiving.

I found a frame in the garage {bought a few years ago at the Aaron Brothers penny sale and never used} and turned it into a memo board.  The left clip will hold Elijah and Kennedy’s paperwork {they’re in middle school together} and the right clip will hold paperwork for Luke and Lila.  {In the mornings, the kids can check the clips before heading to school … it gives me a central place to leave completed papers where I know they’ll be found.}  The middle opening is a magnet board when I can post little reminders or notes for the kids.

I hung the frame over the kids’ cubbies so it’s out of the way but still convenient and accessible.

{excuse the color in this photo … this room has no natural light.}

I’m hoping this system will keep us organized and eliminate any early morning scrambling for permission slips or lunch money.
