Monogrammed Beach Tote

While out shopping the other day, I found the cutest {cheapest} plastic tote just perfect for summer.  I knew this waterproof tote would be handy for carrying beach towels, swimsuits, goggles, and other summer gear to friends’ houses or even just to tote goodies out to our own backyard pool.  But I couldn’t leave it plain red and added a simple vinyl letter to the front to make a monogrammed beach tote.  After all, in the South, everything’s better with a monogram.

Using my cutting machine, I cut a curly lower case D from navy polka dot vinyl.  I love polka dots and I thought a navy letter would give this beach tote a fun, nautical look perfect for summer.

I love the way it turned out and I was reminded that sometimes the best projects are the simplest.  This monogrammed beach tote has already had lots of use this summer and I’m sure we’ll be using it all year round.

Randi, I love how you dressed up this simple tote. Dare I ask where you bought it? I had a couple of these years and years ago that finally had the handles gave out . I loved these because you knew no sand was going to get into them and the bottom would keep everything dry. I would love to pick up a couple of them. I didn’t get so creative like you did, I need to think out of the box a little more! I would also love it if you would stop by and share this at my new link party over at Celebrate and Decorate.

I found this tote at Aldi. They had piles of them so if you’ve got a store near you, hopefully you can still find one. I’ve seen something similar at Joann too.
