With five kids in our home, there’s an expectation that everyone will chip in with chores in order to make our home run smoothly. I like to refer to it as teamwork {smile}. It doesn’t always go as well as I’d like but I’ve been giving my younger kids some increased cleaning responsibility, something a bit more involved than just unloading the dishwasher.
While I think it’s important to have my kids help with household chores, I don’t want them spraying, touching, and breathing harsh chemicals. And lately I’ve been more concerned about breathing them myself. I’ve been looking for ways to limit the chemicals in our home and the newest change in my healthy home is the addition of Ology products available exclusively at Walgreens.
I recently stocked up on some of the Ology products at Walgreens, adding some new choices to our cleaning cabinet.
Ology products are easy to find because of the fun pink branding and they’re not only affordably priced but they work well.
The products don’t contain harmful chemicals and Ology is endorsed by Healthy Child Healthy World which makes me much more comfortable about exposing my kids to these cleaners.
To help my younger kids tackle their household chores, I filled a small, lightweight caddy with only the essentials that they need for their jobs: Ology all-purpose cleaner and window cleaner, washable cleaning cloths, a garbage bag, and paper towels. They can grab the caddy without having to worry about finding the right products or making sure they have everything they need.
A fun fact? Ology paper towels and other paper products are biodegradable and 100% tree free. Honestly, I didn’t realize paper products could even be tree free.
Ology paper products are made from sugarcane husk and bamboo and the packaging contains a whole explanation. It prompted a fun and educational chat with my kiddos about resources and social responsibility.
I readily admit that we use a lot of paper towels but I’m also trying to eliminate some of that waste so I’m encouraging my kids to use washable cleaning cloths when they can. To simplify things, I added iron-on heat transfer to the cloths so the kids can keep them separate and task-related. One cloth is to be used for wet jobs {wiping down counters and cupboards}, one cloth is to be used for dry jobs {dusting shelves in their rooms} …
… and the last cloth is for the nasty jobs. This one will help stop the spread of gross bacteria from one spot to another.
Our new cleaning caddy system has made chores a whole lot simpler and adding Ology products to our home has made it a whole lot healthier.
Have you tried any of the Ology products at Walgreens?
Thanks for the post. I’m excited to check out the Ology products at Walgreens. I had no idea they had such a line.
I didn’t realize that you could have tree-free paper products either. What a great way to help the environment! I love your cloths and cleaning system – I’m totally trying this with my kids! #client
