Hot Cocoa with Friends

Although it often doesn’t feel much like winter here in Texas, a hot cocoa get together with friends is always a fun way to celebrate winter. The simplest of gatherings are my favorite: a few planned but simply executed details and time with friends are a lovely combination.

These hot cocoa party ideas are simple and quick to throw together but help make time with friends a bit more special and memorable.

How to Host a Hot Cocoa Party

It’s as easy as setting out all the goodies for cocoa.  You’ll need packages of store bought hot cocoa mix {if you have a container instead of packets, just pour some into a bowl and let guests measure it out from there} …

… dishes of marshmallows in whatever size or shape you prefer…

Hot cocoa with friends
… crushed peppermints for a fun topping …

Hot cocoa with friends
… and mini chocolate chips …

Hot cocoa with friends
… and whipped cream {homemade flavored whipped cream will really top things off well}.

Set out styrofoam cups edged in white chocolate and sprinkles.  These red and white sprinkles had a peppermint flavor that was the perfect complement for cocoa.

Holiday entertaining doesn’t have to be tricky or elaborate.  The simple, delightful gatherings with friends are often the best kind.

That is a great idea. I love the sprinkles around the edge of the cup. I suppose one could use colored sugar as well. Peppermint and Elisha do not go well together. Oh the drama… lol!

Have a great day down there in Texas!

What a good idea to put white chocolate around the cups first. That way the sprinkles adhere way better! Very cool!

I dip them into melted chocolate and then into the sprinkles. It’s best to stick them into the fridge until they’re set and then they’re ready to go!
