Summer is the perfect time to create some memories with the kids and an indoor family camp-out is definitely fun {minus a bit of back pain from laying on the hard floor all night … wink}!  We set up a glow in the dark cereal bar for a good night snack and had some memorable family time camping out in our gameroom!

Before our evening of fun I hit up Walmart and bought boxes of Kellogg’s cereal and a pile of glow sticks …

… then went home and set up the camp-out.  Summer in Texas is way too hot for outdoor camping so we transformed our gameroom into a glow in the dark campground.  With an early bedtime for my kiddos and late night sunsets we had our glow stick fun while the sun was still up but that didn’t matter to my little people.  Glow sticks are awesome even if it’s not dark!

We set up our teepee …

… and hung a glow in the dark lantern from the top of it, creating some fun ambiance inside the tent.

The younger kids hung out in the teepee and decked themselves out with glow in the dark rings and belts made from glow sticks.  With all the neon, it was like an 80’s party gone wild.

We played for a while, then had a good night snack before everyone turned in for the night.  I set up a simple glow in the dark cereal bar on a coffee table so the kids could reach everything easily and serve themselves.

I added a glow stick garland …

… and set out a few of the kids’ favorite Kellogg’s cereals.

Right now, some Kellogg’s cereals are available in special limited edition packaging that fit in perfectly with our glow in the dark theme.

We ate from disposable bowls {because no one wants to do dishes at bedtime} …

And you have to have something to drink so I set out bottles of orange juice wrapped in glow sticks.

We gobbled up our good night snack and got ready for a crowded night in the tent {and scheduled a nap for the next day}.

I loved glow sticks when I was a kid. I probably still do, but I haven’t had one to play with in years!

What a fun idea to do a glow in the dark party. My daughter has been wanting to have her friends sleep over and this would be a cute idea. #client
