One of my favorite things about the warm spring months is entertaining!  I love having friends over to swim or to sit and chat under a big shady umbrella with a cold drink.  Light and refreshing is a must for spring drinks and a beverage bar with DASANI® Sparkling with frozen fruit and herb skewers is the perfect way to entertain in these warm months!

While wandering through Target, I popped into the sparkling water aisle …

… and bought a few boxes of DASANI Sparkling in different flavors.  The new flavors {strawberry guava, white peach, and blood orange} all sounded so good!  And I was pumped about the temporary price cut {$2.99 for an 8-pack of slim cans}!

I also bought a pile of fresh fruit and herbs {pineapple, oranges, lemons, strawberries, and rosemary} and picked a handful of fresh mint from my garden when I got home.

Once you’ve got all the ingredients, you’re ready to prepare the beverage bar.

To make the frozen fruit and herb skewers, slice the citrus fruit, cut the pineapple into chunks, and slice the strawberries.  Thread fruit and mint leaves onto wooden skewers, alternating the ingredients to make different combinations.  I love pineapple paired with lemon slices and mint leaves but you can’t go wrong with most combinations.

You can also thread fruit pieces onto rosemary skewers, using the stem of the rosemary to poke through the fruit.  The rosemary will infuse into the fruit adding an earthy tone to the flavor.  And it looks pretty fabulous!

Lay the skewers flat on a baking sheet and place in the freezer while you set up the rest of this fruit-themed beverage bar.  The skewers are best if they freeze solid so allow time for that.

Using a cutting machine, cut fruit slices from bright vinyl and apply them to the side of clear disposable cups.  If you don’t have a cutting machine, it’s not hard to cut the shapes by hand.  To keep the party decor cohesive, stick with citrus tones: orange, yellow, green.

Cut the same shape from white and colored cardstock and use a dab of hot glue to attach the straw toppers to colorful paper straws.

Finally, create a fruit slice garland to sit behind the beverage bar.  Cut large circles from cardstock, hot glue to a piece of twine, and attach it to the wall behind the table.

The only other thing you’ll need is DASANI Sparkling in all your favorite flavors.  Tropical pineapple, blood orange, and lemon are my favorites and so refreshing and light.

To set up the beverage bar, remove the fruit and herb skewers from the freezer and place all the items on a bar cart or table, in an assembly line style.
