A Floral Tablescape

Want to set a pretty table and still keep it entirely simple? This floral tablescape is just a mix of grocery store flowers but it looks gorgeous and it’s perfect for any occasion!

a floral tablescape

To start, grab a few {cheap} floral bouquets from the grocery store.  I tend to stick to a similar color palette but you could really mix it up for a bright, vivid look.

Find an assortment of glasses, vases, and small containers in your cupboards.  Clear and white are best since they really allow the color of the flowers to shine but you could use colored vases and containers if you wanted.  Think outside the box when you’re looking for things to use.  Vases are great but so are mason jars, glass salt and pepper shakers, small cream pitchers, and small juice glasses.

Space them out down the center of the table, staggering them so that they’re a mix of heights.  The varied heights is important to give it a whimsical garden look.

Then start adding the flowers.  I usually start with one type of flower and spread them out.  For example, I placed pink carnations in different containers along the table, then added white daisies, and continued along until I had a nice mix.

You don’t have to completely fill every vase.

Partially filling some vases allows the flowers to lay casually, adding to the whimsy.

When you’ve filled all of the containers, you’ll have a gorgeous floral table runner that has instant impact.

I like to let the flowers act as the star of the tablescape so I set the table with white cloths and white plates, adding just a bit of sparkle with silver chargers.

And of course a little flower sprig on each napkin is the perfect finishing touch!
