Dorm Room Organization

I received compensation from BHG at Walmart for my participation in the BHG Live Better Network. However, all thoughts and opinions are my own. #BHGLiveBetter

I know it’s too early to think about going back to school but for those going off to college for the first time, dorm room organization and decor are high on the priority list. I toured some college dorms a few months ago and while they weren’t as small as I was expecting, there wasn’t a lot of spare space. Making the most of small space living is key and choosing the right furniture and accessories will help make a dorm space comfortable and efficient.

dorm room organization

Whether you’re decorating a dorm room or just another room in your home, this 6-drawer wire cart from Better Homes and Gardens is a great fit. It has a clean, modern look, fits in most spaces, and the drawers can hold {and hide} all sorts of miscellaneous items.

And I love the chalkboard labels on the wire baskets for labeling the contents inside! The cloth liners can be removed to be washed {or for a completely different look} and the drawers easily slide in and out to access items.

The top of the cart is also a great place for extra storage. It’s large enough to hold a stack of books, extra bins and baskets, or a brushed silver vanity tray to hold keys, a phone, or a wallet.

I added vinyl text to the top of this tray to personalize it …

… and encourage a little dorm room organization.

One small piece of furniture can make such a difference in dorm room style and organization.

You and I chose the same cart for this month’s challenge! I love how you’ve styled it to be perfect for a dorm room. Aren’t those little built in chalk labels the best? I really love them. 🙂 Great job!

Love it! Super versatile too. Toys… craft supplies, a rolling pantry/storage.
That is one cool furniture piece!
