Cross Cupcakes

My middle daughter was baptized this summer and we celebrated with super cute, super simple cross cupcakes.  These would be perfect for a baptism or christening, or any church event that requires a celebration!

To make these simple cupcakes, I baked a batch of cupcakes from a mix and let them cool completely.  Rather than spreading {storebought} icing onto the cupcakes, I spooned the icing into a plastic sandwich bag, trimmed the corner off, and piped the icing onto the cupcakes in a spiral formation.  This is such an easy way to add a special touch to everyday cupcakes.

I melted white candy melt {found at craft stores and many grocery stores} and poured it into cross-shaped candy molds {affiliate link} then placed them in the fridge to harden.  When the candy crosses had solidified completely, I popped them out and placed them on top of the cupcakes.

The white icing and white crosses looked so pretty against the pink cupcakes and we loved celebrating my sweet girl and such a special time in her life!
