Coffee Sack Decor

I really love the coffee sack trend and the rustic tone it adds to home decor.  I decided my barstools needed some updating so I got rid of the gingham seats …

… and recovered them with a $2 burlap coffee sack {one of my favorite Canton finds}.  The look is entirely different and very rustic but I really like it.  I was worried the seats would be a bit rough or would fray on clothing but we haven’t had either issue and they’re actually quite comfortable.

What do you think?  Would you use a coffee sack to cover furniture?

I like the one on the right a bit better than the left, just more interesting portion of the fabric. Ya, no shorts on those?? But no sliding off either.

I like it…very cute! I can’t imagine what the texture is like, though…is it scratchy? Does it matter—they’re so cute! 😉

I really love the look of them but are they comfy when your wearing shorts? If they’re comfy (if that matters) then they are great.

Love the fabric you choose. What about iron on vinyl? It’s clear so you could still see the fabric, easy to clean off and totally would totally take away the scratchiness.

I love them! If you want to play with cutening (?) them up maybe a little pleated burlap skirt would add to the cuteness factor. I am into pleating stuff lately so that just popped into my mind. But if I saw them in a store I would {{heart}} them on the spot.

I think they are adorable! I like the idea of a little skirt too. Gosh, you could even spray paint the frame but they are cute just as they are! I say yay!

I might be repeating something because I haven’t read through the comments. My suggestion would be maybe putting a clear vinyl over them? How easy would that be to clean? (I’m considering my very messy young man here). I love them!

That’s a great idea (we have messy kids too) although I’m surprised how well they’ve held up. It’s been a year and there’s no wear at all. I guess there’s a good reason they use burlap for holding all those heavy coffee beans! 🙂
