Since reading The Creative Family (by SouleMama), I’ve loved the idea of embroidering early childhood drawings onto fabric and preserving them in some way. A month or so ago, I saved a picture Lila drew (a picture of me!) and then embroidered it onto a piece of white cloth. Today I completed the project by sewing the embroidered picture onto a piece of denim (I left the edges to fray and even left the selvage edge intact … I like that unfinished look) and then sewing it onto some chenille that I made into a pillow cover. It’s a great accessory for the gameroom and a fun way to remember and enjoy Lila’s early drawings.

    Oh, that is very cute!
You know, that will be a perfect handed down gift you can give her when she has her own children! Can’t you just imagine how sweet it would look in your grandchilds baby room?? (I know, I am an advanced planner so just planning some for you too! HA)

I saw this over at CSI and I wanted to tell you how much I love it!!! As a former kindergarten teacher, I love the way their little minds see/draw people. Adorable! Plus, what a way to save and cherish! Nice job!
