This etched monogrammed glass pendant post contains affiliate links.

I have a bunch of glass pieces in my craft supplies, left over from my days of making soldered jewelry and ornaments.  Did anyone else hop on that trend?  I was brainstorming unique projects for using the pieces and came up with the idea to make a simple but elegant DIY etched monogrammed glass pendant.  The monogram is subtle but so pretty and these pendants make a great gift idea, especially for that hard-to-buy-for person on your list!

Supplies for an Etched Monogrammed Glass Pendant

To make these glass pendants, you’ll need a few basic craft supplies.  These can all be found at local craft stores … and you may even have some of them in your own craft stash.

You’ll need glass pieces {with smooth edges} in any shape {the pieces I used are about one inch wide and about two inches long}, letter stickers or homemade vinyl letters {you can make these with a Cricut machine}, etching cream, E6000 or another heavy adhesive, and jewelry fixings.

How to Make an Etched Monogrammed Glass Pendant

To make the etched monogrammed pendant, place a letter sticker on top of the glass, leaving room at the top to attach the fixing.

Cover the entire top of the glass with etching cream.  You don’t want to leave any parts uncovered or they’ll be clear while the rest is foggy.

Leave the etching cream on for the amount of time instructed on the product, then wash it off completely, and peel off the sticker.

Dry the piece of glass completely then use the adhesive to attach the jewelry fixing and chain to the top.  Let the adhesive dry fully before wearing.

The monogram on these necklaces is very subtle but so classy and I love the way the letter catches the light.  It’s such a simple and personal gift idea that anyone will love!
