Giving my kids a delicious, protein-rich breakfast is important to me before they head off for a long day of school but it’s sometimes difficult to find something quick and hearty.  These cheesy sausage balls are simple to make, have only a few ingredients, and can even be frozen after cooking and then popped in the microwave for a warm, quick, and easy breakfast.

Wright Brand recently added sausage links, patties, and chubs to their brand lineup and I grabbed the links and chubs on a recent trip to Walmart.  My family loves Wright Brand bacon and we were looking forward to trying the sausages.

To make these cheesy sausage balls, you’ll need the following ingredients: 2 cups Bisquick baking mix, 1 cup grated sharp cheddar cheese, 1 pound Wright Brand sausage, and 1 teaspoon sage.  Use your hands to mix the ingredients together, making sure that they’re blended very well.

Form the sausage mixture into one inch balls and place them on a lightly greased cookie sheet.  Bake at 350 degrees for 20-25 minutes.

Cheesy sausage balls are delicious by themselves or as a side dish with scrambled eggs, french toast, or any of your favorite breakfast dishes.  Once cooked, they can be frozen and reheated in the microwave for a quick, healthy breakfast.
