A Tutorial :: Vinyl Bike for the Wall

I’m happy that my project was so popular in the SYTYC competition!  It’s a whole lot more fun being near the top than being near the bottom.  Want to make one too?  Here’s how I did it.

This project was a bit finicky but fun to put together.  I used a downloadable Silhouette image of a bike.  This image was perfect because the pieces were all separate, meaning I could enlarge it to the desired size and then attach the vinyl pieces together on the wall.  It allowed me to make the bike fairly large.

I recycled an old basket I had and cut the handles off it …

… then sewed a liner.  The liner was hemmed and I folded it over the top of the basket, right side out.

The flowers {a la Pottery Barn} were just a fun touch at the end.

The bike looks so cute in Kennedy’s room and really fills a nice space on the wall.

Thanks Regina … the bike image is from the Silhouette website. It’s one of their downloadable images.
