A Striped Tablescape {with Duct Tape}

I recently entered Pizzazzerie’s Summer Stripes Tablescape contest.  My entry was far from phenomenal but I’m sharing it because I loved one detail.  I used duct tape to brighten up my tablescape!

When I think of summer, I think of fresh, bright colors.  My tablescape used primary colors and stripes going in lots of directions.  Red ticking covered the table and striped paper goods sat at each spot.  I chose paper products so the party could be quickly cleaned up and the fun could carry on outside, not in the kitchen.

The table is festive but do you want to know my very favorite detail?  I added blue duct tape to the clear cups and spoons to make them striped.  I love the way they look and it was a two minute update.  With all the patterned duct tape available, you could really do something fun.

You might be seeing a bit more duct tape around here in the future.

    I love your entry! Duct tape is wonderful! I have some hot pink duct tape that I used to seal (and color code) boxes when we moved.

    I eye the duct tape every time I go into the craft store. I like this idea to jazz up plain old cups and silverware for a party.
