A Spring Mini-Makeover with Renuzit

Spring is in the air!  It may not have felt like it this past weekend but the rain has stopped, the trees are in bloom, and the warm weather has returned.  It makes me want to open the windows and freshen up the house.

Season to season, my house pretty much stays the same {at least in terms of the general decor} but this year  I had the chance to do a little shopping spree and bring some spring to my family room.  To kickstart this little makeover, I sent a Gorgeous E-Card from the Renuzit facebook page and got a printable coupon for a Renuzit Fresh Accents Air Freshener.  {You can print your own Renuzit coupon by liking the facebook page here.}

Tate and I shopped for Renuzit at Walmart, did a few smell tests to find our favorite scent, and came home with a raspberry-scented gel air freshener.  {To see my full shopping experience, check out my Google + album.}

I set my new Fresh Accents air freshener in the family room right away and enjoyed the fresh raspberry scent wafting through the room.  I love that this air freshener has such a natural and subtle scent … none of the fake, artificial smells that drive me crazy.  The aroma is light and fruity, a combination that makes me think of spring.

And it’s cute too.  Until I got it out of the package, I had no idea that the air freshener was double-sided.  You can choose whichever pattern you like the best.  Or just switch it up any time you want.  How’s that for versatility?  I set it on my dusty organ but I’ll probably move it around the room until I find the perfect spot.  I like the fact that you can use it decoratively if you want but it’s also small enough to hide away if you’d rather not have it in a central location.

In addition to my new air freshener, my family room got a little aesthetic spring freshening as well.  If you read this blog regularly, you’ll know that I’ve been on a quest to add some color to the homefront.  I kept that in mind as I was shopping around Walmart and came home with some bright accessories for my family room.

I’ve been wanting to add some color and texture to my big old couch and these toss cushions fit the bill {and they fit in perfectly with my knit lampshade cover, don’t you think?}.

I love the orange {of course} and the pillows feel fresh and spring-like to me.

And spring always makes me think of bright colored flowers.  A pitcher full of yellow tulips is just so cheery. Add a cup of coffee in a vibrant mug and I’m one happy girl.  I may have sent the kids outside to play while I enjoyed that cup of coffee in peace, leaning back on my new cushions.

Do you change your decor to suit the seasons?  Have you tried the new Renuzit Fresh Accents Air Fresheners?  I’d love to hear what you think.

    I love a spring makeover. It’s been about 12 months since made any changes. It’s time.

    You are right…the pillows look great with your lampshade! I can’t wait to get one of those air fresheners. It sounds like I had better hurry before they sell out at that price!

    You used some of the colors I used… red and yellow. Love them! Always amazes me how pillows and fresh flowers can completely change the mood of a room.
