A Serendipitous Mistake

Serendipitous to me, anyway.

Last week, Fed Ex delivered a parcel to my door.  I was so excited to open it and find Silhouette products – black vinyl, transfer paper, and frosted vinyl {which I’ve been dying to try}.  After my initial excitement, I realized I must have received this package in error.  I hadn’t placed a recent order nor had I won any contests.  And I certainly didn’t think Silhouette loved me enough just to send me products to review.

I sent a couple of emails and early this week Silhouette confirmed that they had sent the package to me in error.  However, because they’re such a great company, they told me to keep the products.  Hooray!

A serendipitous mistake
My Silhouette was busy cutting frosted vinyl this afternoon.  I initially tried using a cutesy, swirly font in a smaller size and that proved to be a bit too finicky for this project.  I resorted to a cute but bulkier font and the rest of the project went off without a hitch.

Mirror photos prove difficult for this amateur to take but I placed the words, “you are fearfully and wonderfully made” {Psalm 139:14} around the small mirror on my girls’ larger bathroom mirror.  My girls will spend many hours looking in that mirror, and rather than question their looks or wonder if their hair is just right, I want them to know what the Bible says about who they are.

A serendipitous mistake

I’m loving my first frosted vinyl project and already have a few other ideas in mind.  Thanks for the perfect mistake, Silhouette!

I’ve started truncating my posts … please pop over to my blog to read the rest!

It’s a nice craft, but I love the idea behind it. I wish all of the young girls everywhere had mothers to teach them the truth of the verse.

    Blessings…
