Luke and Lila are four and this year’s twin birthday party idea is a morning pajama party! I found a bunch of cute pajama party ideas in an old parenting magazine and added our own personal touches to customize the ideas for my boy girl twins.
Pajama Party Invitation
I used scrapbook paper to make sleeping bag invitations and we sent them out a few weeks before the party.
The pajama party paper dolls were cut either as boys or girls, depending who the guest was, and all the details were written on their pajamas {I ran the paper through the computer printer then cut the doll shape around the wording}.
I tried to match hair and face color to the guests.
The little paper dolls were tucked into paper sleeping bags and mailed off to the guests.
Pajama Party Table Decor
On party day, I set up two tables in the dining room, both set to look like little beds. I laid a bottom sheet over each table, covered it with another sheet …

… and placed a pillow, teddy bear, and book at one end.

Star garlands were strung from the chandelier …
… and instead of place cards, I added names to straw toppers attached to straws in bottles of chocolate milk.
We asked all the guests to wear pajamas to the party and Luke and Lila were decked out in the pajamas I sewed for them, both with a big number four on their shirts.
Pajama Party Games and Activities
An impromptu pillow fight broke out while we waited for guests to arrive and once everyone was there, the kids played a game of musical pillows ….
… followed by a game of flashlight stomp …
… and a hunt for glow-in-the-dark stars.
We finished the activities with a bedtime story.
Pajama Party Cake Idea
The kids sat down at the tables, sang happy birthday, Luke and Lila blew out their candles, and everyone ate sweet dreams cakes, ice cream, and chocolate milk.
These little cakes were so fun to make, using marshmallows for pillows, vanilla wafers for faces, cookies for the beds, and covering it all with a fondant quilt.
Pajama Party Favor Idea
Friends went home with homemade sleepy ZZZ cookies {a little bedtime snack} and toothbrushes.
Luke and Lila had so much fun celebrating with their friends and the creative elements of this party made it so fun to plan!
