A Log {or Branch} Wreath

A few months ago {in a Country Living magazine, I believe}, I saw a wreath made from driftwood disks and decided to copy it with small logs and branches.  My log wreath was fairly time-consuming to make but I really love the way it looks.

I started with a styrofoam wreath form that I wrapped in burlap {I didn’t want the white styrofoam to show through any gaps in the logs} …

… and then I rounded up lots and lots of logs and branches!  When you think you have enough, round up about a hundred more … it took far more than I thought it would.

I cut the wood into one-inch pieces {a word of warning: wear protective eye gear when cutting small branches … those pieces can really fly!} and then hot-glued them around the wreath form, starting with a center circle and then working them in where they fit.

I really love the monochromatic look of it … now I just have to figure out where to hang it!

I don’t think you need to hang it anywhere. You need to just send it to Kentucky! I have the perfect place for it! LOL!

Have a great day rock star!

Very nice. What sort of wreath form did you use – maybe styrofoam? straw? wire sounds dificult…

Yes, I used styrofoam. It provided a solid base to glue the log pieces onto.

Beautiful wreath. I love yours more than the log one I’m obtaining ideas for. Thank you so much for sharing and for your gracious instructions with hints!!
