A Cupcake Tree

I’m co-hosting a baby shower tonight and this mini cupcake tree centerpiece is my favorite detail.  I just love it.  Inspired by a cupcake tree I saw online, I made a few changes and I think it turned out so cute.

cupcake tree

To make this cupcake tree, I used natural white curly branches found at the craft store and placed them in a tall container filled with raffia moss.

I used hot glue to attach small nests to the branches to hold the mini cupcakes.  The nests tied in perfectly with our spring theme and I thought they were adorable.  I spaced them out and glued them to flatter areas of the branches.  This cupcake tree is decorative and more cupcakes will be served on platters around the tree.  If you want your tree to hold all cupcakes, you’ll need more branches with lots of straight areas.

I glued another nest onto the front of the vase and added a little bird that I cut with my cutting machine.

I love the look of the little cupcakes tucked into the nests.

This cupcake tree was so easy to make and I think it’ll be a really fun detail at the shower.

I am laughing right now, because reading through the comments I see at least 3 of the “no-no’s” I mentioned in my Commenting series this week. Do people really not have any tact at all?! Okay…long rant.

This is such a cool project! I’ve never seen anything like it, and I bet it really wowed your guests! The little Silhouette birdie on the front is the perfect touch. 🙂

Thanks so much for joinking my Weekeend Bloggy Reading party. 🙂
