A Framed Mirror {and a MirrorMate Giveaway}

MirrorMate provided me with the product used in this post.  All thoughts and opinions are my own.

A few months ago I shared the inspiration I had for my kids’ bathroom makeover.  I finally got the job done {you can see the full bathroom makeover here} but today I want to share the transformation my mirror got with MirrorMate!

mirrormate frame in bathroom

The kids’ bathroom had a builder’s grade mirror like the ones most standard homes have.  There was nothing wrong with it but it was just so plain.  I really loved the idea of framing it out but didn’t necessarily want to DIY the whole process.  That’s why MirrorMate was the perfect solution.

MirrorMate is a frame that installs in minutes and turns a bare mirror into a mirror that looks like it was custom made.

I wanted a mirror with a wide frame and a Pottery Barn style so I chose the Pacifica White Cap.  It’s a simple frame but I knew it would look perfect against the dark wall color I chose.

The frame arrived in a long box with all four pieces unattached.  Putting it together was even more simple than I imagined it would be.  I laid the pieces out on a sheet so they wouldn’t get scratched …

… lined up each corner and laid out the connectors I needed.

To attach the corners, I simply applied wood glue {included in the kit} to the inside of the mitered corners, pressed the corners together, and pushed the connectors into the holes.

When all four corners were attached, I carefully turned the frame over, wiped away a bit of excess glue, and let it dry for an hour.

The final step was attaching it to my mirror.  It fit right over the old mirror clips and adhered with permanent tape attached to the back of the frame.  The installation kit included placement corners that ensured a level placement of the mirror and the whole process was so easy!

Whether you’re an experienced DIYer or someone who has never held a hammer, the MirrorMate kit is the perfect fit!  In one hour and fifteen minutes {including glue drying time} you can have a complete mirror transformation and a whole new look!

    We are about to do this in our owners bedroom! I think we are going for a black frame to match all of our oil rubbed bronze fixtures. Can’t wait to see the final look 🙂

    This would be so much simpler and cleaner than doing it yourself. Would really like to try it.

    Oh I SO miss having a framed mirror. In our last house we had this done and it looks so complete. I would love to re-do our master bath mirror or our daughter’s mirror with a frame!
