Spring {and an early version of summer} has hit our area and we’re spending lots of time outside, going for long walks and enjoying the sunshine.  I’m ready to dig out my bike and hit the trails and I’ve been daydreaming about getting a fabulous new bike and decking it out with some fun accessories.  These DIY bike accessories are all so unique and would definitely make a leisurely bike ride even better.  If you’re ready to hit the bike trails too, check out these fabulous ideas to deck out your ride!

Add some DIY pannier bags to your bike to carry everything you need for a day on the town.  These bags are made from storebought purses so this DIY is actually much easier than it looks.

A glow in the dark bike is just the thing for safe night riding … and not very difficult to make.

If I had a crochet bike bell cover, I think I’d ring my little bell all the time.  I love the color, I love the beads, and I’m just pretty smitten with the whole idea.

A drink holder is pretty much a must for a bike, especially for a long ride, and this DIY version is so clever.  Made with a can and a storebought {cheap} clamp, this project is so simple but super convenient.

Vintage is my favorite and this vintage picnic basket bike crate makes me smile.  Not only adorable, this crate is also so convenient.  I know what I’ll be looking for on my future thrift store trips.

This project makes me swoon: a crochet bicycle skirt guard.  Not one bit useful but every bit fabulous.  Do you love it as much as I do?

If you don’t want to crochet a bike bell cover, paint your bike bell instead!  Polka dots and orange are the perfect combination.

A leather bike key tag is a great way to store your key and would make a really great guy gift for your favorite bike rider!

Tired of your plain old bike?  Spray paint your bike in any color you want!  It’s not super simple and requires taking apart your bike but I think the final outcome is well worth it!

Update your bike helmet with duct tape to create a one-of-a-kind piece.  This duct tape dinosaur bike helmet even has glow in the dark teeth!
