This homemade thin mints recipe is part of a sponsored conversation written by me on behalf of Dunkin’ Donuts . The opinions and text are all mine.

I love the scents and flavors of the holiday season: sweet smells and delightful flavors that take me through fall and into Christmas bringing with them memories of seasons past.  It’s a magical time of year full of delicious traditions and this homemade thin mints recipe is one of our favorites!

Along with all the treats that the holiday season brings, I love seasonal coffee flavors and Dunkin’ Donuts has three that I love: Pumpkin Spice, Apple Pie, and Mocha Mint.  They’re perfect for pairing with homemade goodies to create a sweet food gift for a friend.

The Mocha Mint flavor is a perfect match for these homemade thin mints and makes a quick and simple last minute gift idea … and let’s face it, anything quick and simple during the holiday season is a total win, right?

Homemade thin mints take no time at all to make and the kids can help too.  In fact, I often set out the ingredients and let my girls go to town, whipping up a big batch of these cookies.

To make homemade thin mints, simply melt a package of mint chocolate chips {easily found in the baking aisle at this time of year}, dip Ritz crackers into the melted chocolate {make sure they’re covered completely in chocolate then let the excess drip off a bit}, and place them on a wax paper lined baking sheet until set {I pop them in the freezer to speed up the hardening of the chocolate because we’re usually ready to start sampling right away!}.

Once the chocolate has completely hardened onto the cracker, you can store them in an airtight container or package them in a clear bag with a pretty bow and you’ll have a delightful seasonal gift for a friend!

This easy two-ingredient recipe is one of our holiday favorites and once you taste that sweet and salty combination, you’ll know why!

What are your favorite holiday recipes and traditions?
