I’ve alluded in the past to my favorite summertime drink but I realized I’ve never shared the recipe here. In the summer, I love to grab a pile of mint from my backyard garden and brew a pitcher of minty lemonade iced tea! You’ll love this recipe too … it’s a favorite among all my friends!
Minty Lemonade Iced Tea
3 cups water
5 tea bags
1 cup tightly packed fresh mint leaves
1/2 cup sugar
4 cups cold water
1 6-ounce can frozen lemonade, thawed
Bring 3 cups water to a boil in a saucepan. Remove from heat, add tea bags, and stir in fresh mint. Cover and steep ten minutes.
Remove and discard tea bags and mint. Stir in sugar till dissolved.
Pour tea through a strainer into a 3-quart container. In another container, mix cold water and lemonade together then pour it through a strainer into the tea. Serve over ice.
