I love to pull little pranks on the kids for April Fool’s Day. Among other things, I’ve frozen their cereal, stuffed newspaper in their shoes, and served phony grilled cheese sandwiches. The kids have come to expect my pranks and aren’t always fooled but I know they’d be disappointed if I didn’t plan something.
This morning I had an egg-straordinary breakfast prepared when the kids got up – ostrich eggs to fill up those stomachs and get the day off to a nutritious start. They didn’t fall for it but enjoyed the peaches and whip cream.
A mid-morning snack piqued their curiosity. Homemade French fries with ketchup? They were suspicious but took a bite to discover these were actually faux fries – sugar-coated breadsticks with a side of jelly.
