Creating a Smart Home {and a Giveaway}

I received free product from Verizon Wireless but all thoughts and opinions in this post are my own. #VerizonSummer

Do you have a smart home?  A home that’s taking full advantage of the technology available?  In the next few years, entire cities will be smart.  Lights, meters, parking garages, and more will all be run by smart technology.  My home is far from smart right now {except for those of us living here – wink} but I’m ready to make small changes that will have a big impact.

Last week, I spent a morning at Verizon Headquarters getting updated on all the amazing home technology they have available and I can’t wait to show you some of my favorites.

I came home with the JBL Flip 2 portable wireless stereo speaker and I’m so excited about the way this will revolutionize our pool parties this summer.

No longer will we have to listen to music blaring from phone speakers.  Instead, using bluetooth technology, we can blast our favorite summer playlists through this speaker.  The rechargeable battery has five hours of playtime, long enough for a refreshing afternoon in the pool or at the beach.  And the color matches my outdoor decor perfectly {wink}.

Want something a little more flashy?  You’l love the JBL Pulse, a wireless sound system with an LED light show.  You can go rainbow or choose specific colors to shine while the music’s playing.  I know my kids would have a blast with this!

We spend a lot of time grilling in the summer and I’ve added the iGrill wireless cooking thermometer to my wish list.  Two weeks ago, I was chatting with friends and left the burgers on the grill a bit too long.  Instead of juicy hamburgers for dinner, we ate blackened burgers.  That won’t happen with the iGrill!  When the food reaches the set temperature, a phone alert prompts you to head back out to the grill.  Genius, right?

In addition to the speakers above, Verizon Wireless also has other portable speakers that make it easy to take music wherever you go.

And it’s not just about the home.  Technology can take care of all those living in the home too!

Have you got a dog that likes to fly out the front door like mine does?  The tagg pet tracker fits on your pet’s collar and signals your phone with your pet’s location.

There’s another similar device that lets you keep track of your kids adding some peace of mind when the kids are out riding bikes or exploring the neighborhood.

There are so many technological advances that can simplify life!

These items and so many others can all be found at Verizon Wireless online or at your local Verizon Wireless store.
