A Shark Party

We had our final pool party of the summer yesterday: a fun shark party for the twins and their friends.  As with all of my parties, I kept it super simple but added a few creative details.

I layered blue and white plastic tablecloths and cut waves across the edges …

… and added a shark banner to the wall above the table {I cut the sharks on my Silhouette and glued them onto a ribbon}.

The shark backdrop sat on the table …

… along with a couple of shark shooters for the kids to play with in the pool.

The kids drank ocean punch {blue Hawaiian Punch}.  In a perfect world, it would have had floating fish ice cubes in it.  In the real world, the cubes were all so heavy that they sunk to the bottom of the container like dead fish. {smile}

I served simple snacks: bowls of shark teeth {two kinds of Bugles with white and chocolate chips} …

… a few different kinds of Goldfish …

… and a shark watermelon {which looks more like a flounder!}.

And paper plate shark jaws {tutorial found here} were scattered around the table.

Nine kids spent a couple of hours wearing off every bit of energy in the pool …

… and my twins loved spending that time with their friends.

Our shark party was a great way to say goodbye to summer!
