Back to Basics :: Water Fun with Target T-Shirts

Each month in my Back to Basics series, I’m sharing a traditional game or activity that gets the kids unplugged and out of the house.  Summer is the perfect time for the kids to get wet and target t-shirts just add to the fun!

Before you grab the water toys, you’ll need to make target t-shirts for the participants {it’s best if everyone has a target t-shirt but for the purposes of these quick photos, only one of my kiddos had one}.  I used iron-on heat transfer {and my Silhouette} to make these shirts but you could make a simpler version with a Sharpie or fabric paint.  The target could also go on the front or back of the shirt.

Once the shirts are ready, let the kids loose with water guns, squirters, and water balloons …

… and have the towels ready!  The kids can form teams, you could devise a point system, or give prizes for the wettest targets.  It would make a fun summer party activity.

Kids and water are such a great mix and it’s the perfect way to keep cool on these hot summer days!

And in the colder months?  Keep the kids inside, grab the shirts, and let them have Nerf gun wars {with caution, of course}.

Randi Dukes About Randi Dukes

I’m Randi, a wife and stay-at-home mom of five kids, ranging from preschool to high school. I love strong coffee, craft and DIY projects, my planner, my laptop, and my big ol’ family. When I’m not creating something for my blog, I can be found in the car, running kids from one place to another. I’m the one knitting at the red light.
