A Gratitude Jar

November has arrived. I love this month … Thanksgiving is a time I look forward to so much. Time with family, celebrating all the blessings we’ve been given. To prepare our minds, this gratitude jar went on the table today. A simple jar embellished with burlap and scrapbook paper, it holds pieces of paper that we all will write on throughout the month. Every day we’ll add something for which we’re thankful. The slips of paper (some or all) will be read at Thanksgiving dinner and then saved in the scrapbook. A small way to remind us to count our blessings every day.

… in everything give thanks … 1 Thessalonians 5:18

Randi Dukes About Randi Dukes

I’m Randi, a wife and stay-at-home mom of five kids, ranging from preschool to high school. I love strong coffee, craft and DIY projects, my planner, my laptop, and my big ol’ family. When I’m not creating something for my blog, I can be found in the car, running kids from one place to another. I’m the one knitting at the red light.

  1. I would like to add to the Gratitude jar. I give gratitude for the inspiration of the Duke’s family!

  2. what a great idea!

  3. I think you’re the only person I know who loves November! The Gratitude Jar is a great idea. Do you have any helpful hints for February? Even tho Travis & Becky both have birthdays that month, it’s my least favorite. I’m open to your creativity!

  4. This is awesome! I LOVE how you embellished this with scrapbook paper and burlap! It looks SO GOOD! Thank you for sharing…I’m excited to try this.

  5. What a sweet idea! I love the way you decorated your jar. I was thinking of doing something similar with branches for our big dinner.

  6. I popped in from the Midwestern Sewing Girl link-up. What a lovely jar! I’ve been debating about whether to go with a gratitude jar, or chain, or tree … If I could make a jar as cute as this, the decision would be easy!
